Pros

Stable company, opportunities to work remotely, family friendly environment, lot of perks, competent workforce, good opportunity to learn about the software industry, opportunity to transition into different roles, decent educational reimbursement policies, 401k matching, opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies.

Cons

Low pay, hard to get a raise, can get promoted but not get a pay increase, bureaucratic obstacles to hiring new staff or purchasing new hardware or software

Pros

Brand Value. Great technical information available readily A place to learn (but not build a career)

Cons

This feedback is for Oracle SSI: Promotions/Career Advancement happens only if you are in "good books" by always towing the line of your immediate manager; there is no scope for personal views - even if they are finally proven right. There is a lot of politics in the mid-senior management level and you have to almost be a politician to get through the maze. Salary offered in not fare and its only dependent on the burgain. Also, onsite policies are ridiculous and horrible.

Pros

i believe that Oracle is a good place to sharpen skills around pursuit, sales, quarterly target management, account planning, people sales. Oracle provides ample networking opportunities at events like NAS, Open World events globally and through a myriad of industry events. The Oracle brand is one that employees feel empowered to stand behind - the brand alone provides a sense of pride and strength in approaching most situations.

Cons

Oracle is an intense working environment that puts the success of the company/unit and the individual at a "no-holds barred" situation. It is sales at all (or nearly all costs) without regard to strategy, direction, future success. Oracle has way too many dimensions that confuses partners, customers and to a certain degree Oracle's internal employees. Back office operations are fragmented due to the sheer size and geographic spread of business that Oracle maintains.
