Pros

The flexibility and pay allow me the security and work-life balance I need as a busy working mom. Not only do I have the financial security to meet my children's needs, I have the balance that allows me to not miss out on being a mom. Usually, moms have to choose between being present for their kids and financially supporting them, and this gift of working here is I get to do both. Other perks - leadership that listens to and implements feedback, and places value on DEI. This is the first company I have worked for that does equity pay reviews. That says a lot about the integrity of this company.

Cons

Working in shared services (People / Legal / Finance Teams) - meaning you support both OpenTable and KAYAK - there are a lot of systems access issues and roadblocks that are annoying.

Pros

I'm actually a "boomerang", I worked for OpenTable for about 5 years before I decided to try out a new opportunity. After a year at another restaurant hospitality tech company, I came back to where I knew I was valued and where I felt like I belonged and heard. Amazing health benefits, accrued PTO, work from anywhere, supportive, agile leadership. There are many opportunities to work with other teams to help streamline processes, test out new tools, and help train new hires. My coworkers are literally my best friends, everyone is so cool and nice, and down to earth. They're also the smartest, hardest working people I know. When I go to offsites and our conference, I learn a ton from my coworkers, and always come back home excited to hit the field. I'm going to my first offsite since coming back to OpenTable and I'm straight up giddy to see everyone again.

Cons

It's been about 8 months since I've been back. With any company, there's always room for improvement, but the unique thing about OpenTable is their leadership actually listens to the field. There are definitely high goals here, across the board. From my experience, that's every company. Since my return, I've been able to meet my goals, which I attribute to OpenTable's amazing system and network of users that are helping support Restaurants during these tougher times. The team is also provided with all the tools we need to reach our goals (data, demo systems, collateral, best practices, competitive intel). During tough quarters, we are able to get creative, find new avenues, and rebound quickly. Leadership is taking amazing steps to revitalize our brand and system capabilities. Sometimes changes are hard, coupled with increasing goals and an immediate desire to grow, which led me to look elsewhere.. but sometimes it takes looking elsewhere to find your perspective again.
