Pros
- company is quick to recognize hard work (promote, give raises, etc.) - high level of intelligence of co-workers / overall intellectual atmosphere (almost all employees are math/cs people) - easy access to management - startup-like atmosphere in a company that's actually already made it (i.e. secure) - the work you do affects people's lives - NYC street cred - yes, you can actually use your job to get dates
Cons
- quiet work environment - sometimes slow to actually go live with code I've worked on - missing some of the startup frills (free lunch everyday, beer fridays)
