Pros

There are none of them.

Cons

One observation that stands out is that there seems to be a lack of alignment between the qualifications of certain employees and their job roles. This disconnect has led to inefficiencies in various aspects of our work processes and has at times created challenges for the team.

Pros

Salary benefits package is really nice.

Cons

Upper level management is extremely unethical in almost every way. Company will outright lie only to improve metrics. Food, HCAPP, regulations are completely ignored except in times of audit. Leadership, in contrast to management, is almost non existent and is about the most toxic I've ever experienced. Hourly associates are treated very poorly for minimum pay. They expect, from management, a very high level of performance with very little higher level support. Managers are expected to work a minimum of 70 hours a week and compensation is far below median. Bonuses and promotions are dishonesty promised and nearly zero accountability, humility or really any aspect of proper leadership is exhibited by management in any form. The GM, Sal, lacks any capacity to set his inflated ego aside and has zero interest in leading anyone to success. The compensation and overwhelming turnover at every level are clear indicators literally no one can be happy working for Newrest. I'm so ashamed of my short employment here I won't be adding this place to my resume. I have never, in my entire working career, been subject to such a negative and toxic environment. DO NOT ACCEPT ANY POSITION AT NEWREST FOR ANY REASON!

Pros

Friendly coworkers (some): Navigating the difficulties I encountered during my time at Newrest Israel was made more manageable by the presence of a select group of coworkers who consistently radiated a friendly and cooperative demeanor. These individuals, while not encompassing the entirety of the workforce, stood as beacons of positivity amidst the challenges. Engaging with these colleagues provided a daily respite from the often tense atmosphere that had developed. Their readiness to collaborate, offer assistance, and engage in open and constructive dialogue created pockets of relief within an otherwise strained environment. It was evident that their commitment to fostering a harmonious atmosphere extended beyond their immediate tasks; they actively contributed to a more pleasant workplace by demonstrating empathy and understanding. This camaraderie extended beyond mere professional interactions. Shared lunch breaks or brief moments of camaraderie during downtime highlighted their willingness to connect on a personal level. Engaging in conversations that ranged from work-related matters to shared hobbies and interests further solidified the bonds formed. The sense of solidarity that emerged from these connections was a testament to the potential for a vibrant and harmonious workplace culture. Opportunities for connections: The inception of my journey at Newrest Israel was marked by a window of opportunity to build connections that transcended the ordinary employer-employee relationship. These initial stages presented an environment where colleagues, driven by mutual commitment to professionalism and respect, gravitated toward forging meaningful connections. Interacting with colleagues who valued open communication and collaboration was not only refreshing but also energizing. It wasn't limited to a surface-level exchange of pleasantries; rather, it involved shared insights, collaborative problem-solving, and a genuine sense of mutual support. The commitment to professionalism meant that each interaction was characterized by a shared objective of contributing positively to the company's success while nurturing a supportive work culture. These connections extended beyond the confines of work tasks. Engaging in team-building activities, collaborative projects, and even informal gatherings during breaks provided a platform for deeper understanding and appreciation of each other's strengths and perspectives. These connections weren't merely fleeting encounters but became integral to the daily rhythm of the workplace, shaping a sense of belonging that transcended individual roles. Furthermore, these connections contributed significantly to my overall experience at the company. The shared camaraderie and mutual respect I experienced within these connections counterbalanced the challenges posed by the less favorable aspects of the workplace environment. The knowledge that a subset of colleagues was committed to upholding professionalism and respect served as a source of motivation and inspiration during the more trying times. In sum, the opportunities for connections at Newrest Israel were instrumental in shaping a positive dimension of my experience. They highlighted the potential for a workplace environment characterized by collaboration, support, and shared values. These connections demonstrated that, even within the confines of a complex professional setting, the simple act of building meaningful relationships can contribute immensely to fostering a thriving and cohesive work culture.

Cons

Hostile work environment: The transformation of Newrest Israel's work environment from a welcoming space to one marred by hostility, gossip, and unfounded accusations was a deeply disheartening experience. This shift cast a shadow over what was initially a promising journey, leaving me to grapple with a pervasive sense of unease. The emergence of this toxic atmosphere not only affected my personal well-being but also had a ripple effect on the team's overall productivity and cohesion. Lack of support from human resources: A particularly distressing incident underscored the shortcomings in the support structure of the company. In the face of threats of violence and legal action from a shift manager, I turned to the human resources department with a well-documented case supported by surveillance footage. Unfortunately, instead of finding solace and understanding, I was met with skepticism and doubt. This experience shattered my confidence in the company's ability to uphold the welfare of its employees and reinforced a sense of isolation. False accusations and threats: The ordeal I faced was compounded by a barrage of false accusations aimed at tarnishing my reputation. It was disheartening to witness colleagues engaging in spreading misinformation and gossip, casting doubts on my integrity and professionalism. The lack of accountability for these actions not only fueled a toxic work environment but also eroded the sense of trust that should be a cornerstone of any workplace. Furthermore, the threats of violence and legal action I received were not only alarming but entirely unacceptable within a professional setting. Inconsistent communication from management: The inconsistency in communication and subsequent actions taken by management was a source of profound frustration. Despite being assured that my role was secure and that a thorough investigation would be conducted into the incident involving the shift manager, the abrupt termination notice I received shattered these assurances. This lack of alignment between words and actions not only compromised my trust in the company's leadership but also magnified my feelings of betrayal and disillusionment. While my time at Newrest Israel was brief, the challenges I faced and the lessons learned have left an indelible mark on my professional journey. My earnest hope is that these insights will serve as a catalyst for change within the company, prompting a renewed focus on cultivating a positive, respectful, and nurturing work environment. By addressing the issues of hostility, false accusations, and inadequate support, Newrest Israel has the opportunity to not only rectify past injustices but also lay the groundwork for a workplace that thrives on the principles of fairness, integrity, and empathy.
