Pros

Decent salary and benefits. Nvidia is a large company, so your experience will be largely determined by which group you work in. I saw some engineering groups that seemed like good places to work. But check out the manager and co-workers carefully.

Cons

I worked in the mobile group as a technical writer, but the title is misleading. All technical writing in the mobile group is performed by engineers, and tech writers simply convert it to PDF or HTML and release it to the proper channels. It's strictly document production, churning out docs under very heavy time pressure. The only docs "written" by tech writers are Release Notes-type docs. API References and meaty technical documents are written by engineers. Beware: I was told during the interview that this was a writing position. However, all Technical Writer positions in the mobile group are more accurately described as document-production jobs. In fact, real technical writing in the mobile group is not valued; no time is allocated to produce proper documentation. What is valued is churning out engineer-written docs at a fast pace. Sadly, people in the mobile group who can spew out documents at a quick rate are placed in managerial positions, even if they are over-reacting, micro-managing bullies with no people skills. Beware you don't end up working with one of those.

Pros

Technically skilled people Good pay flexible work hours and you dont have to be at work to work till 2 am, they give you laptops and remote login, imagine staying back every night till 2 am and the logistics, it would have been a nightmare with out flexi hours and the laptop vpn access!

Cons

Favoritism pretence and dishonesty Chairs are designed to give a back ache, whov, what a strategy to weed out people with a back-bone You will be at the recieving end of the stick until you master the following skills :- keep your honesty at home, learn to say yes and admire your boss learn some yoga that makes people wonder if you have a back bone at all learn to use awesome, amazing, wonderful, great once in every alternate sentences Oops I forgot to use one of those adjectives for three sentences, I am awesome (yes, thats acceptable, no wrong, its actually expected)

Pros

Good to work in a Product company which has a Global enviroment structure and learn different types of work if you get allowed. Jensen is leading the company in very strong way and just because of him the company is improving in various platforms.

Cons

The Local Directors are surrounded by Managers whom politics is more important than the Company work. The managers are behaving like the company is running just because of them. If you do Good work then your work will not be recognised by your name but they will show as they have done this task and if you are lagging in something then they will focus your week points to upper management (Local Director). Many managers are just enjoying email-emails to check whether there is any spelling mistakes in the email even if the topic is important for the company. Looks like they are Professors from Cambrige University and joined NVIDIA for checking spellings only and not for any technical issues. Many of them are overloaded with the work and we need to ping them for any approval 4-5 times and they don't know how to use Blackberry given to them to see if any email arrives in their INBOX. Local Directors are keeping quiet even if any employee is doing complaint against any Managers. As per Managers Local Directors are always out of reach for them and they don't have proper knowledge about NVIDIA policies and need to take approval for each request from Local Director. For a simple request we need to wait for at least 15 days to get the approval from the Manager just because of this reason. Even HR team is doing the same thing and they don't have time to listen employee and reslove the issues.
