Pros

Shifts can be good if you work with the right staff. I love my patients.

Cons

Long hours. Too much office politics and gossip. Working in mental health there is a high risk of aggression.

Pros

Hard-working colleagues, good team spirit, knowing that you're doing a job that makes a difference to peoples lives.

Cons

Poor administration and management leading to understaffing, rota mistakes, and being made to cover different departments without any notice until the day of the shift. Generally undervalued by our management and the public. Limited break times. Having to pay for parking and cover our own travel expenses when working out of hours. Classifying 1800-0400 shifts as "twilight shifts" so we don't get the pay banding for nights. And tons more...
