Pros

Young and passionate company Hugely relevant solution to disrupters and disruptees across all industries Proven by our rapidly growing top brand customer base None of the friction of other companies experienced

Cons

Growing fast with a high-set bar to entry so finding the right people not to dilute the average and direction is a challenge

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience! Agree that our high hiring bar is critical to our success, but also sometimes takes more time. Finding the right people is essential. Keep up the good work!

Pros

Everyone is smart and everyone is exceptional in their role and field. Any question I have is answered immediately with an intelligent, data-driven response. The company touts "ownership" as a core value, and it's real. I and everyone I've met here feels they have a major stake in the company's success, and they pay attention to every detail. All Hands meetings are some of the most engaged forums I've experienced. People really care, and they want the company to succeed. I've also already made incredible friends and truly enjoy the people I work with and see every day. For such intense values and "never settle" philosophy, people actually don't take themselves too seriously and I'm always laughing and smiling, whether it's in my pod area or in the kitchen getting coffee. I really believe in the company's vision and product. They're doing incredibly powerful things in the market. Customers don't just believe, they are living the vision and truly succeeding thanks to the many teams at MuleSoft who make it possible. It's like one giant team instead of siloed orgs. In the short time I've been here so far, I feel like my skillset, knowledge, and overall career trajectory is lightyears ahead of what it was when I started.

Cons

Not so much a con as it is something for people to know—this company is an amazing opportunity for someone who is very self-driven, up for a challenge, not satisfied with the status quo, and has an insatiable quest for knowledge and self-improvement. If that doesn't sound like you, this isn't the right place for you, and that's OK. The hiring bar is exceptionally high and it's not in vain—I've honestly never worked with such intelligent people in my life, and these people get more done in a day than I ever thought possible. You'll feel like you're never doing enough and that you're not performing as well as you can. But they wouldn't have hired you if they thought you couldn't take it, so enjoy the ride and remember that this is seriously the best career opportunity out there.

Thanks for your feedback, it's incredibly important to us and we definitely want to hear your experience of the culture and processes. We did the employee engagement survey several months ago and spent a lot of time at all levels of management reading through the scores and comments--there was a lot of great feedback and we take it seriously. That is really meant to be only a start and I would encourage you to speak openly to your manager or other leaders about any feedback you have. If you don't feel comfortable for any reason please reach out to People Ops to discuss with us.

Pros

Right place right time, market opportunity

Cons

Product innovation struggling, bad mid level managers who either don't have experience or skills. Exec team has no idea how to build relations with customers and for most part are bad at following up. Senior leadership just knows how to give big talks to employees and have no idea where the reality is, how to make a customer successful. Not really investing in the skills required by customer success team. Absolute lack of technical chops in customer success is hindering scale of the organization and a lot of workload on Services team. Product has scalability issues. Really long hours and your work goes completely unappreciated.

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing. Please know that I would be happy to talk through your concerns anytime in person. As the MuleSoft product, the company, and our customer base have grown significantly over the past few years, so have the charter and required skills of the Customer Success team. The mission of Customer Success within MuleSoft is to be the ultimate advocates for our customers and ensure they achieve their outcomes with the MuleSoft solution, sometime through direct engagement and sometime by ensuring they are engaged with the right resources across MuleSoft. Technical enablement has not traditionally been a central part of the Customer Success skill-set but that is changing. We are now aggressively recruiting and hiring technical resources on both the architecture and product side and expect to be able to drive much more direct technical enablement out of Customer Success. Appreciate your candid feedback and more than happy to sit down and discuss this in person.
