Pros

I work with some of the most fiercely intelligent human beings I have ever worked with in my career here at MuleSoft. It makes me want to do better, work harder, and learn more. Our exec team, while not perfect, consistently acts with integrity, experience, and thoughtfulness. They are transparent about our company strategy, genuinely care about every employee, and are open and accessible throughout the layers of the company. Employees take responsible for getting their work done and contributing; there's no blame game or finger pointing. I am surrounded by truly good, compassionate human beings with interesting experiences; that's rare.

Cons

Bandwidth is a consistent complaint. Because we hire achievers, people will continue to do more and more and not necessarily speak up about extending past their boundaries. Managers need to do a better job of recognizing this and making improvements More approval-based vs. take risks culture Communications between teams is not always great and leads to frustration in duplicating work

Thanks for your feedback. Careers are important for us and we agree that managers need to play an important role in supporting people through coaching, providing them challenging work and surrounding them with great colleagues to learn from. We're placing a lot of emphasis on leadership as we scale and one of our key expectations for managers is playing that role. I'd definitely encourage you to provide direct feedback to your manager on how they can do this in the best way and definitely reach out to me as well -- I'm always excited to discuss how we can ensure that we are doing this well as a company.

Pros

I recommend researching the folks that work at MuleSoft. Regardless of what area, I guarantee you'll find the best and brightest. Everyday I feel challenged & am surrounded by passionate innovators that want to WIN! Our culture requires individuals who are self-starters & road pavers that have a growth mindset.

Cons

We have a high hiring bar- but not sure that's even a con. We want to maintain & uplift our company culture.

Pros

After working at MuleSoft for over a year I believe I have a good perspective on the company and what makes it special. First, the culture is really fantastic from the top down. Management makes a point of hiring "good humans". Every day I come to the office I work with people who are both high in character and ambition. The best part is there are no egos, no drama, or blaming. Helpfulness and a get-it-done attitude is all around. But you are expected to move the dial and get stuff done at the highest level. If you are naturally inclined to be collaborative and proactive this is a great place to hang your hat. I think the reason for this culture is that the managers all the way up to the CEO highly value the art of listening. They understand that once someone doesn't feel their viewpoints or perspectives are valued, they will stop offering it. We have this motto about "radical candor" that seems to go up, down and sideways. In terms of work-life balance, I have been able to make it work for me. I have a seven year old boy and I am able to take him school every day, take him to piano lessons and be a good father. I do work in the evenings and in the mornings to fulfill a full days work, and then some. But to be honest I do so because I want to; my job is fun and infinitely interesting. I’m learning a ton and everyone around me are incredibly smart, so you want to up your game. The trajectory of the company is really exciting. At first I was really worried that the growing pains of I was witnessing were going to be an on-going issue. Some of the process when I first showed up were broken. But after some trial and error things are pretty smooth now. I am impressed how everyone here is willing to adapt and change as we grow.

Cons

We need to hire faster. It takes too long. Space was an issue but we recently expanded our SF office so things are much more comfortable. My perspective is within marketing and the IT side of the house.
