Pros

I've been working at MuleSoft for over a year, and the longer I'm here, the more I feel like I want to accomplish in the company. There is so much to do (which is a good thing!) and so many possibilities and opportunities, that I'm excited at the prospect of all the ways I can make a lasting impact on the company. The reason there's so much to do is because the company is so transparent about where we can be better, and everyone is empowered to take ownership of those things to drive creative solutions. I feel like a broken record saying "I learn so much here everyday" but it's true, and it's something I hear from everyone I speak to at the company. This is the kind of place where I feel like my experience here will prepare me to do anything—it's that good. I'm surrounded by the smartest, most business savvy, and hardest working people I've ever worked with. It's extremely challenging, fast-paced work, and everyone's role has that weight to it. I also laugh a lot. People are genuinely friendly and kind, and I feel truly supported by my colleagues in every department. It's the kind of place you wish you found sooner.

Cons

Being at a company that pushes you to be your absolute best means that you will learn things about yourself and your work that no one ever had the time, compassion, or candor to tell you before. It can be really uncomfortable, and at times disheartening, to expose yourself to constructive criticism so openly. What I'm saying is, if you're not ready to actually challenge yourself, challenge the way you've always do things, and push beyond your status quo, then you'll see those things as cons, instead of huge positives. Working here is very hard work, and with that comes rewards that you never thought were possible. This company is about giving you exponential personal growth and career development by doing the hard work needed to get there.

It's great to hear about your experience! Building a culture where we challenge while supporting each other is so important to us as we grow and scale the company. We plan to have our annual MeetUp again next year and use the time to align on strategy and collaborate closely with Muleys across offices and functions. Thank you for being a part of our team, and helping us get to the next level.

Pros

Working for Mulesoft was my first job out of university and initially went into an Account Development role. Pretty quickly it was apparent that the role was not a good fit for me. Instead of parting ways, I was able to work with Mulesoft in moving to another part of the business which suited me better and have since really enjoyed. After around a year working in Sales Ops in London, I was given the option to move to the HQ in San Francisco, an opportunity I could not turn down! We genuinely have a great and inspiring CFO that leads the finance group which Sales Ops falls under. Our team has been a pretty lean one, meaning that if you want to own something and have the drive to do it, you are trusted to do so. This makes you feel like you can really have an impact within the company. The level of accountability you get in the Sales Ops team is really high, whether you are representing the team for a region or you own something such as fixing or improving a process or a system. This can be daunting at times but again, it makes you feel like a trusted member of the team. People who work at Mulesoft are truly of the highest Caliber.

Cons

Because of the level of ownership and accountability you tend to get at MuleSoft, it can be hard to switch off and work normal hours. I guess that just shows how invested in the company you get.

Pros

People seems to be nice.

Cons

The engineering leadership has fair management skills, but they lack technical skills and up-to-date knowledges. They think they are building state-of-art products, but, in fact, they are just fooling those idiot executives. The smokeless political battles from certain groups of people are driving away real talents and squeezing the spaces for others.

I'm sorry it sounds like you had a bad experience. From my perspective, the project I am working on is for sure state of the art. Our team is working with Kubernetes, Docker and Helm. We are building on top of these new technologies to build a globally scalable platform for our customer's apps. Day to day I am involved in all parts of the project - from planning the work stream (we are currently using Kanban), to collaborating with other teams on common APIs, to writing code which will run on 1000's of machines. Additionally, in my opinion, it's the engineer's role to understand and communicate the complexities of choosing between different engineering solutions, not the exec's. And I know which role I would rather have :P
