Metso Global Business Services - LT Office

Pros

Flexible with remote work (based on experience) Somewhat above market salary A decent global structure for most departments. Clear top-down communication. Expected standard industry benefits (bonus, extra insurance, events, etc.)

Cons

Stagnation - getting meaningful or ANY promotions into global positions is near impossible. Less qualified or experienced people get hired over others primarily because of location despite the position being completely global. Downright ignored internal applications despite fully covering requested experience and skills. Lithuanian office wellbeing and event initiatives are very female-centric. Completely for empowering women in the corporate environment, however there is not a single masculine initiative. Not that important, but something to note if you're looking to bond with coworkers you don't often interact with in a work setting. As the company is inviting and welcoming, it may be too much, to an extent. There are some employees on a global scale that are notorious for their lackluster performance. These are not new people, but since they've been here for a long time, seems like more new and hungry people will have to pick up some slack. For little to no reward. Recommended not to overexert yourself for an extra 1% on the yearly bonus calculation. It's not worth it. While I mentioned decent salary, it becomes outdated within a couple of years as the market moves forward. Mostly because lack of career opportunities. Based on purchasing power, I've now went down in pay despite my tenure and growing expertise. Encouraged to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Pros

-most work is remote and enables a good work life balance and flexibility -people are very helpful and willing to assist -no micromanagement

Cons

-if you like to work with people in person I would not recommend because the office is very quiet -work is international so it can be hard to get deliverables out of global teams if workload is high -teams are decentralized
