Pros

I've been in this field (recruiting) for quite some time...I've worked for start-ups and large, F50 companies and Facebook is by far the best place I've ever worked. This is one of the only companies I've worked for were you live and breathe the mission/values and you can see how they are a part of your daily life. In my team, I'm treated like a professional and given the freedom to work with my clients the best way for me to have the most impact. I'm not going to speak for eveyone, but work-life balance is here for me. The benefits and compensation are ultra-competitive and I feel the company really listens to our needs. I trust in Mark and the rest of the leadership team to put Facebook in a position to succeed.

Cons

For me personally, the only down-side I see is there can be a lack of career growth/advancement opportunities. Some of that has to do with the relative "flatness" of the organization, but it's still a CON.

Pros

An incredible amount of time and effort is put into pushing employees to be the best version of themselves they can be, both professionally and personally. Development and career opportunities abound everywhere you look, and the quality of people that you are surrounded with is eons beyond anything I've seen at any other company, and I've worked for quite a few in different parts of the world. Culture plays an important role, and is also what makes the special place it is. The workload is high, but a heavy emphasis is put on having the right work-life balance/integration - which helps keep things humane. Even with a high workload, the impact of what we do is seen and felt on a very regular basis, pushing me to continue in my quest to be the best version of myself I can be, so I can deliver results that support our ultimate mission of making the world more open and connected. The hype is very real. It really is this good here.

Cons

Being surrounded by the creme de la creme day in and day out makes imposter syndrome a very real and regular challenge. Keeping these thoughts in check can be challenging, but if you can manage it, and focus on being the best version of yourself, everything works out in the end. Incredibly fast moving changes can be tough to keep up with, but its also a big part of the joy of being here. There isn't much to complain about, which is why I'm having difficulty finding something of real substance to put here. Oh yeah - the free food, drinks, and snacks absolutely must be offset by regular workouts, or else the natural process of weight gain will rear it's ugly head. File that under #TheFoodIsTooGood.
