Pros

In the large accounts area (risk management), clients are some of the premier companies of our time; insight into many different types of businesses; generally clients also good people and enjoyable to work with; lots of smart and interesting colleagues, most of whom are team players and willing to share experience and give technical advice in their areas; lots of opportunity for creative problem solving; insurance a people business, relationships and reputation matter so worthwhile to build 'your brand'; some great analytic models and tools; company defined benefit pension still exists, decent 401k,

Cons

Current large wave of retirements creating 'brain drain' and burdening the staff who remain; years of insufficient development and recruitment of next level, so lots of green staff with a huge experience gap; creating potential burn out of senior staff who often don't get rewarded much in annual raises or bonuses; poorly thought out technology decisions and less than stellar information management tools an annoying burden; stock purchase plan not exciting, no real opportunity for equity awards

Pros

They do have a great work life balance, however, they control your over time.

Cons

Prejudice, minorities have a really hard time moving up in the company. If the company already had there minority numbers up, they will not move a minority up even if they have a degree. If they do not like you, you will not mover up.
