When I first joined Marsh, I joined an organisation where employees were actively engaged/ consulted in company change/ direction. Management worked in a collaborative and transparent way and brought employees along with the company's journey. You really felt like you worked for a company that valued its employees.
However, since the JLT merger things have changed significantly and not for the better. Management in the claims space no longer consult/ collaborate with staff. The leaders of the claims space have no idea about claims and the workings of the claims space. The main driver of the new management team is to monetise claims and the best interests of our clients are of a secondary concern. Coupled with unsatisfactory employee engagement, unsatisfactory pay and a clear lack of career progression, it makes working in the claims team a horrible experience.
