      Pros

      There is a lot of long term growth potential, provided you work hard. Lots of bright people who are willing to share knowledge and experience for a variety of coverage lines. Lots of good exposure to clients in a variety of industries.

      Cons

      If working for a large company is not your cup of tea, then this could be looked down upon. There are varying aspects of working for a large company that can deter some people, but local offices make you forget how large the company actually is.

      Pros

      Teamwork, knowledge sharing and the work-life balance of the insurance industry. Senior folks regularly acknowledge the work of subordinates and almost shy away fom taking credit for the work of others.

      Cons

      High level of beurocracy, local chieftans and posturing, resistance to thinking outside the box at the day to day level. There have been so many fits and starts overt the last few years that people are wary of anyone touting solutions - potentially a disaster brewing but for the fact that most employees, those looking to create wealth and value, not simply take it, are team players willing to build for the the sake of being part of something larger than themselves.
