Pros

More people-centric than most employers

Cons

Extremely political at the VP level HR has way too much say on things like career growth - they don't provide anything positive on this, only putting up blockers. They don't understand the business AT ALL, like data & analytics -- they're clueless about talent (pay, career trajectories, etc) yet act all high & mighty and flex their "muscle" more often than they should. Why is HR doing nothing but blocking things rather than looking for ways to promote long-term career growth? It's amazing to see someone so clueless have so much impact. Other companies & industries don't have such blockers in HR like Mars does. A shame, lots of D&A talent leaving because HR is terrible.

Pros

Peers and pay Principles (when practiced) Handful of mid-level managers and directors My "daughter" would love it here

Cons

Upper management needs help - Perhaps unintentionally the company has created a bias I worked in two other companies where merit was the key; however, in this company showcasing the Forbes Magazine Headlines, pushing for certain agenda seemed more critical during my short time with this company. Forbes magazine article talk about how good it is for certain group, but what about other group? Are you okay with overlooking the other side? How is this different than when we were sidelined? On my last day with this company, I felt sad seeing some of the best-talented people who were overlooked because they did not know how to find so-called "champions" to help them get to the next level. Some of these individuals were already doing a higher-level job but were overlooked (read the headlines of this review). Hiring or promotion (if any) of individuals in leadership roles is based on "a criteria" which does not seem to be based on qualifications. I would not want my "son" to work here!
