Pros

Mars was a great place to work. Everyone I worked with was extremely smart and willing to help whenever needed. You get the opportunity to work with people from across the globe. Massive company with a lot of room for growth if you want it.

Cons

Need to be good at networking in order to move up.

Pros

The factory, the restroom and the canteen are very clean.

Cons

Let's be brutally honest: the R&D team at Raglan/Bathurst is a technical dumpster fire. This isn't a team of engineers or scientists; it's a collection of over-managed, under-skilled impostors who somehow missed the memo on basic scientific principles. The team is so incompetent that they miss simple scale-up calculations for transferring data from one type of extruder to another, and some of the team members struggle to answer the basic questions on the factory floor. Their incompetence isn't just a minor flaw; it's their defining feature. They can't troubleshoot their way out of a simple process issue, constantly begging the operators to do their thinking for them. Innovation? Forget it. They wouldn't know a new idea if it hit them in the face. The R&D managers/Scientists are the cherry on top of this crap sundae. They are micromanaging tyrants who would rather see a project fail than have an employee they can't control succeed. Point out a legitimate technical flaw? Congratulations, you've just made an enemy, and they will actively work to get you fired. They don't want talent; they want obedient, silent puppets. To any top talent with options: Do not join. This role is career suicide. They will force you to burn your annual leave over Christmas because they're that cheap and pathetic. If you are top talent in the job market, do not join this company three hours away from Sydney, located in the country side. The location is so remote that your social life will be severely impacted.
