Pros

Supportive management team - willing to go above and beyond to keep staff well-being positive. Excellent training - in depth and entertaining. One training session was done in a Crystal Maze layout that was hysterical. Fun Company - the company itself is a fun cosmetics brand to work for Ethical awareness - the management team work within the local community to get the store to support grassroots charities and local schools.

Cons

Busy at Christmas - as with most stores Lush is no exemption from the Christmas rushes and with its growing popularity it does make for a very busy season. Gossips - I worked there two years ago and by the end of my journey I had had to implement a personal ‘no gossip’ policy where if members of staff approached me to have a gossip about someone I would abruptly walk away and tell them to get on with their job. Through my 5 years of working for Lush Arndale I can safely say that there have seen a fair share of very self entitled employees that have made work uncomfortable and rather than look at themselves as the cause of their unhappiness they would lash out at others. This behaviour was always managed very professionally by the management team who would put in the correct and appropriate support and consequences where necessary. At one point I had stepped up into a management role in another branch I decided it wasn’t for me and quit, upon hearing this Lush Arndale contacted me with concern and offered me my old job back as they said they appreciated my skills and wouldn’t want me struggling to find employment. This level of sympathy, care, and generosity is just one of many examples as to why Lush Arndale is such a lovely store to be a part of.
