Pros

Good pay, holidays, adjust schedule for student to work weekends, some staff nice to chat with

Cons

Where do I start ... Been with the company for 2 years now working part time as a store assistant, I'm also a student. All I ever do is sit on tills 8+ hrs doing very mundane soul eating job. No rotation whatsoever, by the end of the day I'm psychologically drained from doing the same. I asked for bakery training was said no because I only work 3 days a week and no point in wasting time training me. When I got up the till before one of the managers I was sworn at. Upper management is lazy and don't even acknowledge you. Always ask to stay late, call on days off. Store manager very sarcastic and was to diminish you at every chance. Always point out the bad things you do, never says what was done correctly. Also most importantly it's a very sexist job, as a girl you are working long hours at the till whereas men are allowed to pack out , decard, c date. You never do that as a girl. Overall very boring job, for managers horrendous hours 10+ a day, tiring physical work, hard on back. The same tasks to do for the managers too, little opportunity to learn new things. VERY VERY strict pecking order. Advice to you is to stay away from thhis company unless you need money like students. Go get a degree and run from this HELL

Pros

The 10% staff discount (currently UK only) is good, working with the public, and you get to work with some lovely people.

Cons

Lack of respect from management who will lie directly to your face, long hours without a break or just a short break, poor pay, minimal staff level makes it harder for everyone.
