Cons

Getting too big, eating up other insurance companies, Ted Kelley obsessed with being within the top 5, buys up all small insurance companies then lets the best workers go with the most time with the company, gets rid of employees within 5 years of retirement.

Compensation, Benefits, Security are all good. It is a strong company with a developed background. The name has a lot of brand awareness and positive associations along with it. Large national ad campaigns help spread the word about the company. Great reputation amongst customers. Better than most companies in the industries sector.

Cons

Work life balance is hard to determine. Lots of outside work had to be done. Management sometimes has unrealistic goals set up, and they do not see the outside forces in play

Never bored, decent 401 k plan. good vacation benefits. systems in place to accurately account for completed work and numerous opportunities for training and education

poor benefits, particularly health and retirement benefits. top down style management. dictatorial, heavy handed, strong culture of age discrimination, devaluation of soft skills.value older workers, improve benefit package, less work, salaried workers need to complete 45-50 hs a week to complete their tasks. work life balance is in reality merely cheap talk.
