Pros

Generally nice people, albeit with some English / French angst caused by empire builders.

Cons

Confused, stove piped structure, unclear RACI, blame culture, very beauraucracy. IT is years behind the competition and a cause of significant problems. Despite what they say, this company does not put the customer first.

Pros

Colleagues are a great bunch; onsite canteen & Costa; benefits pretty good; pay so-so. Nice place to work, location, building and facilities. Gym on site, and free parking.

Cons

Technical staff are largely overwhelmed. On-call is horrible for Service Delivery and Technical teams. Management in KITS only really interested in their own progression. Zero opportunity to develop without taking secondments on big programmes or to other disciplines, but management can veto such moves if replacing you is *too difficult* Loads of staff having stress breakdown across the organisation whilst I was there. Some staff just disappear with no word - compromise agreements presumably as opposed to redundancy. Management grades only watching out for themselves, no progression unless you’re embedded with management and your face fits. Team leads rendered impotent but are generally on your side.

Pros

The International retail experience and worldwide travel. The opportunity to visit customers across Europe to really understand their needs. My OSC peers are hard working, pragmatic and diligent.

Cons

Pay inequality; my husband is less experienced and earns considerably more..... an extra £18k!!!! Expenses culture, we pay for everything and claim back, the system we use is time consuming and payments are often delayed The OpCos don't understand the process and no one is enforcing it from up above, this quite frankly leads to day to day squabbling that is childish and prevents everyone from delivering.

Thank you so much for posting this really insightful, helpful but most importantly honest review. As you know we have/are going through huge change and there are some areas that need to still be addressed and looked at closer, pay and benefits across the group is one of those and is something that is being looked at currently. I believe we will be getting an update on that piece of work later this summer. I can assure you it's something that is very much on the radar of those within HR especially in leadership roles. The expenses culture is definitely something we need to address asap, and I know there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes looking at how we can make this easier for our people. You're absolutely right, there shouldn't be an expectation to be have to pay out such high levels to later claim back. This again has been something that has not moved at the same speed of growth and development as the function and we're now playing catch up. Any feedback given to us will be forwarded on and looked at in detail. Please continue to pass us your feedback and reviews, it's really important we understand what's really going on with our people on the ground! P.S - Big up to the OSC team, hardest working bunch of people I know!
