There was alot to contend with at Kingfisher. The new CEO who took over recently, does not agree with having any sort of process. This means people have to continually recreate the wheel. Unrealistic targets are set, for example bringing a new product to store.
On average this takes 2.5 years, but new targets were set for 20 months. No guidance on how they should be acheived, no processes to help and no investment in IT, just get it done attitude.
The IT systems are outdated and it is incrediably difficult to get access to them.
People often do not get the data they need to do their jobs,s so they are constantly trying , to source it from other places.
I found the culture odd, you are expected to deliver quickly but there is little leadership or accountability. No interest in solving underlying issues, put a plaster on it and move on.
My manager in particular, was difficult to manage. He portrayed odd behaviour, like taking pictures of me via a video conference without my knowledge or consent. He then posted it on social media!
It is also the first time I have really come across the old boys network. There is blatant favourisim to white male employees.
