Pros

I gained some valuable customer service experience, complaint handling skills, as well as experience of working under pressure in a stressful and busy fast food environment.

Cons

Low pay, high staff turnover. When I started working there as a cashier I received no training at all. Also the location I worked at was the busiest in the town and it was often so busy, that not team members, nor supervisors and managers couldn't handle the volume of customers which caused poor service and angry complaints on the customer side.

Pros

The managers are flexible with hours, and if they are nice they will let you take home free food.

Cons

Horrendous pay. Started at minimum wage ($7.70), state law moved it to $7.85, and got a nickel raise after a year. ($7.90). If you are in a bad location, most customers smell like thrift shops and weed. Customers are picky, and there is almost never enough chicken for them so it makes you look like the bad guy to tell them they are not getting what they paid for. Schedules go from Tuesday to Monday, and you get the schedule for the week the Monday night or even the Tuesday morning of the week. They make up rules to get you to work, as in (a time to lean is a time to clean) even if you've cleaned everything twice. Day shift is usually quiet, and people never do the food prep they are supposed to do, and make the night crew who is already busy with the dinner rush, and takes 1-2 hours to close along with the food prep that the day crew was supposed to do.

Pros

The working environment at KFC is great. In the beginning it is common to make many mistakes and the speed of packing/clean-up will be slower however, after a few month working feels natural. Everyone understands if that people make mistakes. None of the coworkers will tell you that you did something wrong when there is a customer, and when they do say something, it doesn't feel like they are disappointed or angry. They are just letting you know. The days are flexible and they really know how to schedule people. They pay is currently slightly above minimum wage.

Cons

There hasn't been a manager for around half a year now, therefore the in-charges usually does the manager work. At times, especially on Tuesdays, it can feel really rushed if for some reason a person does not show up.
