Kbr doesn’t know how to treat employees

Pros

Great co-workers and friendly staff.

Cons

Kbr pays corporate staff the bare minimum they can. I worked here almost 18 months and never got a raise despite being “promoted” twice. Benefits suck. Over 200 a paycheck to cover 2 people and that was the minimum plan. 6000 a year deductible. That makes it almost impossible to see a doctor because you can’t afford it.

Experience will depend entirely on your supervisor

Pros

Competitive initial offer/salary, decent benefits (401k up to 6.5% match when I worked there; a few different health insurance plans with varying deductibles - all PPO when I worked there; 7 or so paid holidays; PTO (sick and vacation combined) starts at 0 and accrues certain # of hours/week depending on tenure)

Cons

Your experience will depend entirely on your immediate manager. There is little "culture" to speak of at KBR, and little positive or productive communication/interaction between departments in my experience. Always seems like there are nearly as many Chiefs as there are Indians, and very few of the Chiefs are qualified for their positions or particularly adept at managing people.

Takes but never gives

Pros

Relaxed working environment and there are some really nice people about. If you're lazy and useless don't worry no one will notice. I think in some cases it's actually on the job description.

Cons

All projects are based on a blame game of people continuously trying to point out the fact that someone is wrong and never actually engineering a solution. Stuck in the dark ages with no opportunity to progress. Continuous pay cuts and redundancies, zero training budget unless you're on the managers favourites list. Site opportunities continuously promised but never materialise. Managers tend to say yes to most things, but then take it back and let you know by email.
