      Decent starting salary and that’s about the only Pros. Oh vacation purchase plan too

      Weak leadership and communications followed up with poor annual reviews and below average annual salary increases.

      Pros

      Working at NASA is awesome, the quality of people here are great. Working here as a contractor is less awesome, but not so much that it isn't worth it to work here.

      Cons

      We sit next to civil servants who do the same work, or even less technically demanding work in some cases, and are compensated significantly less. I recently got a significant pay bump and now make what a government counterpart of mine made 3 years ago. The business office cares about winning contracts, and they do that by keeping costs of the actual work low, with low salaries on the technical side.
