      Pros

      The company is stable, committed to admirable business ethics, and unusually loyal to its employees. It's well suited to those who want to make a long term commitment to a single company.

      Cons

      Extremely hierarchical, paternalistic, and old-fashioned business structure with many levels of management. Despite the usual lip service to "innovation," the company is highly resistant to change. Processes and tools tend to be many years behind the times. Non-engineers are considered support staff and their contributions are not taken seriously.

      Pros

      Some really great co-workers who try to make a difference. The GWS division which I work for, is being purchased and will be taken over by CBRE. Hopefully this will lead to a great improvement in ethics and management. Lots of career opportunities.

      Cons

      Horrible upper management that often provide last minute directives and poorly implements new programs. An HR that does not back up supervision nor support employees. Pay is slightly below industry standards.I could go on and on.

      Too many hoops to jump

      Pros

      There are some really good people at the front line. People come into the organization believing their contribution can make a difference. Genuine community service initiatives.

      Cons

      Too many layers and it takes too long to get anything done. At first you try to persevere but eventually the effort with nothing to show for it leaves you not wanting to try anymore.
