Good to work at, but sometimes feels like IT is just an afterthought
Pros
Good Work/Life Balance, Good Benefits, Coworkers are relaxed and inclusive, there is a strong set of values and it shows in employees. There is a good opportunity to grow your career at this company, they value experience and don't overly look at diplomas and such. Most VPS/Directors are very fun to deal with and aren't full of themselves. Intact cares about their employees and HR has always been very very helpful. We are allowed to wear jeans on all work days, which is amazing since we don't even deal with customers at IT and there is no correlation between what you wear and the quality of your work. Christmas parties are amazing as well.
Cons
Could use more financial support at the IT department, feels like we don't get what we need to do our work correctly, budget wise it feels like we are a cost center and not a way to help the business grow. Turnaround at director level is way too high and is difficult to manage because of everchanging visions. Communication between departments is difficult and often feels like we are in constant red-tape. Pay could be a bit better, but it's not that bad once you take in consideration all the benefits you get.
