Pros

This is for Infosys consulting. Actual consultants doing the work are some of the best. Culture is pretty good as everyone is open to help as there is no structure internally. Some good projects. Can be set up for years of you are lucky.

Cons

As above this is for Infosys consulting. Basic stuff out of the way first: Systems are crap, timesheets and expenses are barely working and from decades ago, your laptop will probably be ancient, and phone is pot luck. It's embarrassing that clients have better kit to be honest. Office is rubbish, and benefits nonexistent. As said before no central structure, no communities, no organisation, systems antiquated, training available occasionally but not a lot. Expenses are subpar. Major issues: Senior leadership: Spoiler there isn't any. In the time I have been there has been promise after promise to fix systems. They don't because it does not affect US, so who cares. CEO is one of the least interesting and inspiring men you will meet whose plan is hyper growth, selling more stuff that people already want but for inflated margins and worth fewer staff. Is trying to replicate internal strategy from his time Cognizant, which after two years lead to global practices. Why this took two years and not an afternoon is beyond science. Before covid he was mainly going to tennis, post covid he is telling us about the books he has read at which one of his many homes. Also does not understand that as a multinational he should not be promoting his nation's military holidays across the world just because he was in it. The lower partners are just as empty, nothing has been improved, no real direction and a complete disassociation from reality. UK partner is Ex private equity and has been out of actually delivering for so long he has no idea about practical considerations. Just more hyper growth nonsense. Renumeration: if you are lucky you can get a decent salary going in, i.e. you don't need a job. Afterwards you will barely get rewarded ever again. Leads to situations where top performers are paid significantly lower than alsorans even if they are higher position. This stems from need to get in new people but not take care of old, speaking of which everyone is still waiting on promotions that have been talked about now for 7 months, all their competitors have done so by now and are actively poaching. All anyone gets from the empty suits that are the partners is we are pushing really hard. Unfortunately for them every announcement they make is just 3-week-old news from Infosys proper which you can find online. Again, showing the total vacuum that is the leadership. Leadership will protect bullies and unprofessional behaviour if you are selling. Because they cannot. Delivery: No investment in the teams or architecture, constantly scrabbling to source people, have been told to never go on bench if you can avoid it, worked like a dog and the yelled at for not delivering cash flow despite it being partners failure to sell, whether due to poor quality sales, lack of charisma or capabilities.

Pros

I was a "rebadge" where my former company fired me and Infosys hired me. The only pro--ONLY pro--is the fact I have a job and that my job is stable. For now.

Cons

The worst first: the benefits are awful. So far, the company has COST ME over $6k because the benefits are so bad. The dental doesn't kick in right away, though it is allegedly retroactive. So, when I had a dental event take place in the first week of employment, I had to pay $2200 out of pocket. I'm still waiting on insurance to reimburse me. Next, (and they don't make this clear AT ALL), even if you sign up for family health insurance, your family is NOT insured until you submit some specific paperwork. (Birth certificates, tax records, marriage license, etc.) So, because I didn't get around to this, my family was not insured at all. When a health event came up, I had to foot the entire bill. There's another $4k. But, even if you submit this information as soon as you learn about it, there will be at least a 3 week gap between when you're hired and when your family's coverage starts. Finally, the PTO starts at 2 weeks and can increase up to a maximum of 3 weeks. So, if you stick around for 5 years, you'll only get up to 3 weeks PTO. Every other aspect of their benefits are, at best, mediocre. Mediocre 401k match, no HSA match, relatively high insurance premiums, Out of Pocket max for health is higher than I've ever seen at a corporation, Paternity leave-- 3 DAYS! Truly, the benefits here are awful. Outside of that, the "rebadge" process is painful. The internal systems used by this massive corporation are kludged together and behave like they're out of 1998. You'll have to re-enter the exact same data multiple times for the multiple systems. Also, the systems are completely unintuitive and you're forced to use specific browsers. The email system, though it's Office365, has to be run on their hardware. The provided laptops are completely inadequate for developers (no admin access, small hard drive, minimal RAM). Yes, you can "move around" the company, if you don't mind working on projects based in India. Those are the only ones available. Also, you're pigeonholed into the position you're currently in. Want to learn cloud? You have to have had cloud experience to move to a cloud group. Same with Machine Learning, AI, and all other technologies.

Pros

This company does give you the chance to work for various businesses throughout the country if you so desire. They also give you the opportunity to move yourself around in the company to different projects by simply reaching out to other client managers, giving you the opportunity to find your place in your field of expertise. Really when it comes to the pros of this company, is based on your personal preferences. If you like or desire to work for a company for years, moving up the corporate bracket based on the time you work their, this is for you. If you like working excessive numbers of hours focusing your life only on work, this is for you. If you enjoy not being tied down working for various different companies as a contractor, this is for you. Other than that there really isn't many other pros for this company, they have decent policies and benefits, they pay most to all relocations costs if they are needed, and they desire you to learn and be the best you can be.

Cons

You work as a contractor that gets underpaid and underappreciated especially for the amount of work you do by both the company you are contracted by and Infosys themselves. There is also the flip side, sometimes you get paid to do basically nothing feeling very unproductive and a waste of your developing skills, its a role of the dice in many ways for what position you will end up obtaining and what you will end up doing. This company is from India, the issue isn't where they are from, it is their work ethics/values that they encourage or rather expect (require) you to fulfil; They don't out right say it as it is illegal, but they encourage you to do work off the clock for no compensation. Basically if there's work to be done then they expect you to take every waking moment to accomplish it. It doesn't matter how hard or well you work for them, it really only matters how long you have worked for them, you are not rewarded for your success or skills. Any accomplishments you make can give you recognition and can help you move up in their corporate ladder a little bit faster, but more than likely anything you do will not. Your accomplishments really just help the management above you get raises especially for your efforts on outstanding desired projects by the client. If I was to give a percentage of what Infosys really cares about, I would give 50% to the bottom line ($), 49% to what their clients think of them and their contractors, 1% to their employees.
