Pros

All of the pros are superficial. Pay can be good (if and only if the sales opportunities in your narrow "territory" so to speak aren't saturated... unlikely), in-house gym, free food, happy hours

Cons

Rampant sexual harassment, chauvinism, unhelpfulHR, unruly noise on massive open floor plan layouts (I'm talking about people 70+ desks in one massive room, with crude, ear-piercing music sometimes (when someone makes a sale) blasted over a loudspeaker while you're trying to talk to clients or prospects)

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about your experiences of working at Indeed in New York. We have zero tolerance for racism or any type of discriminatory practices. Our message to all employees has always been to report to HR any behaviors that are inappropriate, illegal or inconsistent with our company principles. We work hard to identify and correct any behaviors that could be perceived as unfair. There are various ways an employee can report any issues through the ethics hotline, ethics email, the inclusion team to report to HR, go to any SLT member or general counsel. We’re currently hiring more employees within HR and providing ongoing training to Managers and HR. Thanks again for leaving us a review, we appreciate the time you have taken.

Pros

Benefits. Free food. Good location.

Cons

Management. White washed. Lack of diversity and unsupportive to minorities. Recent growth has led to incredibly bloated middle management who add no value to business. Entire company is ran by engineering head, all other function heads are impotent and have 0 voice. Indeed refuses to let anyone go, even people who are clearly toxic and create a terrible work environment, so if you want to get paid with 0 accountability for your contributions (or lack thereof) then this is the place for you.

Pros

I help people find jobs. And I love that mission. I truly believe Indeed is a great company and would recommend it to others. I'm completely behind the CEO and senior leadership's vision. I love the product team with which I work. They're wonderful and bright people.

Cons

The marketing org is more political and corporate than those of my past companies. What I mean by that is there is clear downward pressure in the way management instructs which results in a stronger feeling of being micromanaged as a cog than in other tech companies at which I've worked. Don't talk to directors directly, and ask your manager to talk to their manager to talk to them. Be prepared to get your work reviewed every rung of the way up to the top of marketing only for it to get completely scrapped at the end, wasting months of time in middle management churn. My manager has been friends with their manager for years before Indeed, introducing an awkward social dynamic where I don't think all the checks and balances are in place for objective discussion. I do not recommend the product marketing team.
