Pros

Solid salary if making quota. Great product to sell & respected in the industry.

Cons

Those that promote internally to AE from being a Hubspot BDR are paid significantly less then those who are hired externally. OTE for external hires is $146,700 and for internal hires it is $123,600. Internal hires also don't receive any RSUs and must sell 54K in order to promote to the same level (L2) as external hires. i.e. over one year in most cases. Internal hires have a quota the first month, while external hires are paid in full with zero quota for two months. They tell you it's because external hires have closing experience but in the same breath they say and show you the data that demonstrates BDR who promote, perform significantly better then external hires. It makes no sense. Very disrespectful and a poor way to retain top talent and those who have spent 1.5-2yrs learning Hubspot. It literally makes no sense and upsets a lot of people including myself.
