Health Insurance, shift pattern, holiday entitlement, (although may change as was an agreement with union for a set period). There are some good talented people working there, but not being used to full potential.
Cons
You are a number and expected to just get it done. It's more about just getting trains out the door, rather than identify faults and report for repair. Procedures are not correct and getting things changed is almost impossible. It's more of a just get on with it attitude, not a lets try and improve attitude. A common response from 1 team leader is........it is what it is. It's known that tasks are not completed correctly by some, and a blind eye turned as long as a signature is on the sheet, or the job signed off. Promotion is very selective, feedback poor, if given at all. People are approached to apply for positions, as they know who they want to fill them. Questions, or issues at maintenance level not always fed back up through to get resolutions or answers, things seem to not go past shift managers, although you are told they have.
