Pros

Truly open and collaborative, a lot of internal initiatives to better the firm from inside. Significant push from the top to understand what the staff think and adapting to feedback.

Cons

Nothing much. Admin side of things may be difficult at times.

Thank you so much for posting your review as a current employee and recommending HKA. We really appreciate you sharing your opinion and the time it takes to do this. Thanks. I am very happy for you that are feeling the open and collaborative culture we have at HKA. This is so important especially as you have been working with us for less than a year and during a pandemic. You are so right we do have a continuous improvement approach to keep making HKA better, particularly after we have listened to what our brilliant people have said. I also think you are right about our admin side. We need to keep improving there and automating with digital improvements as much as we can for our people and our clients. Thank you for all you are doing to help us improve HKA further. I am always out here if you think it would be good to talk. Keep well despite these challenging times. Thank you again. Pros

In the short time I have been here it is clear HKA is a great place to work, values driven, people are collaborative and professional Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is a key priority and we are making improvements in our recruitment strategy to close gender gaps and introduce initiatives to increase ED&I. E.g. In the UK we are researching family friendly policies so we can consider improvements.

Cons

No company is perfect, we are focused on continuing to improve and being an employer of choice.

Thank you for sharing your view that HKA is "a great place to work" , lovely to read this especially as you are a current employee. I am also delighted that you recommend HKA - this is good to understand, as we are a growing business and we are keen to hire more brilliant and diverse colleagues. I am happy for you that you have found our colleagues to be "collaborative and professional". I have found this too and I really do believe that our people do make the difference. We spend many hours working with colleagues to help clients, so good to read that you think HKA is a "great place to work". Pleased that you have quickly spotted that we are working hard on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion as it is a key priority for us and we are making improvements; albeit we will always keep this on our "business as usual" set of topics for continuous improvements. Thank you for sharing your views. Thank you also for joining HKA and wishing you a successful and enjoyable career in HKA. All of us working together continue to make HKA a better company. Much Improved People Business

Pros

Since HKA came into being after the management buy-out from Hill International, great strides have been taken in developing a business that genuinely cares about the development and wellbeing of the people who work for the firm. The firm also has a strong business plan that is reaping rewards including increased opportunities for staff to work on the some the largest projects globally. HKA is going places and so are it’s staff.

Cons

As is invariably the case in high end consultancy, it is sometimes necessary to work extended hours to meet client deadlines.

Thank you so much for your headline "much improved people business" - this is especially positive to understand as you have worked with us for over three years and you are still with us, which is super. I am also delighted that you "recommend" HKA to others - this is good news, as we are growing and we are searching for more brilliant and diverse colleagues to join us. Thank you for the list of "Pros" you wrote. I agree with you and all of the evidence does point to HKA "genuinely cares about the development and wellbeing of the people who work...." with us in HKA. We are not complacent and we have a list of improvements we are working on to help to support our people further. In my view it is our brilliant people that make the difference. I note your "Con" and I do understand how we all flex to meet client deadlines. I hope we keep a good balance on delivering for clients and also caring about the health and well-being of our people. This is so important as our people are juggling personal and professional challenges during a pandemic...please do also speak with me if you think we can do better on this matter. Thank you for all you have contributed to HKA and to our ongoing improvement journey. Thank you. Best regards Kate Wood Chief People Officer and Partner
