Pros

Great people who are fun to work with

Cons

GSEC employees do not feel a core part of Goldman Sachs. There are limited opportunities for advancement within that business, and probably not to senior leadership. The best and brightest at Goldman don't stay at GSEC even if they start there-- the lucky ones find their way back to GS proper, and the rest leave for other firms or industries. The end (not even the middle) of nowhere in JC

Pros

Compensation, benefits, opportunities with other companies.

Cons

Hours, hours, hours and senior managment can at times have little idea of what is really going on. The I Banking world is very feast - famine, alot of people have been let go in the last while that were poor employees. However, some were quality employees that got caught up by poor management and poor decisions.
