Thank you for your review! I would have to agree that it is one of the best places to work, and I also appreciate my coworkers that we are mission-driven. Career development can be tricky; if you feel left behind or underappreciated, please reach out to your manager, skip level, or even me; we are always happy to help. - Tony Hawke, Director of Engineering

Pros

Fully remote is great. Additionally, the work-life balance is fantastic. The comp & benefits are exceptional. I believe in the vision Glassdoor has and upper management is very encouraging and helpful.

Cons

Due to the indeed+glassdoor partnership, there's consistent changes to quota. This isn't a huge negative, however. Sales orgs change quotas and commission structures regularly.

Pros

My job at Glassdoor is the best job I've ever had. The work was incredibly interesting, the people I worked with were great, my boss and my grandboss were the best managers I could possibly imagine. The salaries are very good for the UK as well. Work-life balance is great -- you get at least one company day off every month. I was given a exceptional amount of freedom and autonomy for my age and position, and learned an incredible amount whilst I was at the company. Glassdoor really cares about its employees -- benefits are great, we have unlimited paid time off, and even their redundancy package was extremely generous. Oh, and the Indeed office (where GD is located) has free lunch every day. Another bonus: Everyone knows and loves Glassdoor. It felt great to be working for a company whose product I believed was genuinely improving the world while making money at the same time.

Cons

Remote-first culture: for some people this is a plus, but for me, it was a *huge* con. If you prefer a vibrant office environment, Glassdoor will probably not provide it, despite their attempts to do it all for everyone. Although the people are great, I didn't feel like I got to know those outside of my immediate team very well, which was largely a function of the lack of in-person interaction. In-person social events are far and few between. It deffo does not have the startup vibe that I hear it used to have. Layoffs: two sets of mass layoffs in three years. As an HR/recruitment tech company, Glassdoor is incredibly vulnerable to shifts in the labour market. EMEA is seen as a growth region for the company, and as such, was impacted far more heavily in both sets of layoffs than the US team was.

Thank you for this feedback! I'm so glad to hear you had a great experience here. It's true - our shift to a remote-friendly culture has its pros and cons, and our approach has continued to evolve. I'm just coming off our latest all-marketing in person onsite in San Francisco, which was incredibly recharging to be a part of. And I know we remain committed as leaders to strengthen a sense of community and connection, including supporting in-person gatherings periodically. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. - Eric Petitt, Senior Vice President of Marketing
