Pros

Freedom to make decisions and autonomy.

Cons

Evaluation system. The evaluation methodology of GE arbitrarily giving some a poor performance just because is sad. There is a possibility that everyone on the team is,"Doing there job/"

Pros

GE holds true to it's reputation as a leadership development factory with world class training and plenty of opportunity to challenge and grow your management skills. It remains a steadily growing business even in a tough economy.

Cons

GE talks the talk about work-life balance but the truth is to truely advance in the company it takes making work #1 in your life. It takes the combination of a special person dedicating 80+ hour work weeks and relocating every few years to move up quickly. High stress environment with little reward recognition. "Pats on the back" for a good job are few and far between.

Pros

Working for GE allows to a lot of opportunities to move around, especially for interns. There are a number of programs available that allow for quick advancement and rotational positions. GE is a big company, but my location was pretty felt small and sedated. Being a intern I don't really know what kind of benefits full time employees get, but I get the impression that GE benefits are pretty decent. I liked my coworkers.

Cons

Unfortunately, as an intern I didn't get much interesting work to do. I didn't get much real useful experience. Employee services like Payroll and IT are centralized and/or outsourced, and are thus a nightmare to work with. It took a week or two just to get setup to use a computer, and a few more just to get a paycheck.
