      If you don't join directly from school you will be on the outside

      Pros

      You get to work with smart people, mostly. The pay is good but on an increase freeze.

      Cons

      Each year the benefits get worse, pay more for less coverage and higher deductibles. If you are an experienced professional and join be prepared to be on the outside. From Finance you have to be an FMP and CAS to get anywhere. GE does not value opinions or views from outside the company.

      Pros

      Employees and coworkers are great! The disconnect is between upper management and everyone else.

      Cons

      Major disconnects between management and employees. rapid unprepared change. No direction.

      Pros

      Exposure to technology products in Healthcare, Aviation, Power industry. Hence, learning opportunities are there. Good to understand processes, documentation and standardization practices.

      Cons

      Too many Leaders, Managers and very less doers and individual contributors. Hence, Quality of Products suffers as reviews are more Non-Technical in nature. Focus is more to satisfy "Internal Customers" i.e. bosses, leaders. Actual Customers suffers a lot with late responses and poor quality of resolution as performance metrics is not decided by them Since, salary, bonus and promotion is decided by your boss and not by your Customer, clearly focus is somewhere else.
