Pros

Flexible Work Schedule, unlimited time off, on-site gym. brand new office building.

Cons

Poisonous Culture. Management continues to change priorities and plays employees off each other. Unclear goals, causing long hours and a stressful environment. of spinning your wheels. Also, my title was a misnomer. There was no Analytical work, only accounts payable work.

Pros

The variety of work and pace of change will arm anyone with a formidable set of transferable skills and an ability to adapt in new environments that is rare in any other business. I was exposed to and learned from some amazing leaders and fantastic colleagues, who made every day a learning day. Some incredibly smart and humble people who always felt they were contributing to a bigger purpose than simply the bottom line. None of us forgot how important that was either.

Cons

Fundamentally, GE is a risk averse organisation and has a system designed to avoid mistakes that would expose the company to litigation. The matrix structure, peer buy-in and multiple process sign offs really do hone your influencing and negotiating skills, but slow down the pace of business and can damage the ability to respond to market opportunities and risks.
