Pros

The overall pay is excellent. FEDEX provides a reasonable benefits package as well. If you like to travel and fly to strange places at very odd hours, this is the job.

Cons

Slow advancement due to the change in mandatory retirement age and difficult economy. Although some of the flying can be quite interesting, much of it is to challenging locations in challenging conditions with arduous on duty periods. There is no real opportunity for personal or professional growth much like any pilot position as it is strictly a seniority based system.

Pros

Great place to work, the sky is the limit. If you want to educate yourself they offer tuition refunds and encourage people to be their best. Offer great service to their customers. There are enough different jobs at Fedex that if you need a new challenge you can apply for different positions,so you do not need to leave the company for new oppurtunities to grow personally or professionally.

Cons

overall I'm satisfied , If there was a down sideit would be that there are not a lot of oppurtunities for the front line employees to move into sales without previous sales expereince. This really impedes people that have been with the company for a long time. I believe there should be a mentorship program that brings the front line employees and sales group together. THere are enough skills test that exist in the world that one would have to write a test see if they are compatiable with sales, if so they should be given a chance to develope those skills without having to leave the company. Overall this is a pet peeve. But this does not distract me from my commitment to the company or its objectives.
