Pros

Job security - senior management is committed to protecting jobs even in a down economy. FedEx is a leader in its industry, and has a strong brand. This results in a strong & proud corporate culture. My experience has been that ethical behavior is both expected and valued at FedEx.

Cons

FedEx is very bureaucratic. Turning the ship takes time. Raises are pretty low - it is difficult to move up in salary without getting promoted.

Pros

A company you can be proud of, gives superior service to customers, opportunities to grow a career and gain experience in variety and cutting edge tecnnology. I was able to work part time at FedEx while in college, made a very good wage and received health care! Other perks for working at FedEx allowed me to travel extensively on very little cost, all over the US, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii.

Cons

Very fast pace, always changing, very high expectations... to some, these are very much down sides. For me, I thrive on these attributes!!! With every company this size, you will end up running into some knuckle heads, but just keep on doing your best!

Pros

In sales, there is a relative sense of job security even when you are not that good. There are nice benefits like car stipends and insurance.

Cons

If you really want to succeed you simply must become like those above you. While they may say they want people who "think-outside-the-box" I really don't think they really understand what that means. Senior management in the -+55 age range are stifling growth and causing real talent to leave. They would rather you go through the formalities and become a box checker as opposed to questioning why things are done how they are. They are building the future based on the ideas of the past that have succeeded with no variation for today's world. Middle management lacks any real backbone when it comes to allowing senior management to understand what is really going on. You can come in as a great thinker with great ideas but you will soon see others getting promoted simply because they are more like the person above them. The performance review is really somewhat of a joke.
