Pros

Pay and benefits are OK for senior employees. Practically impossible to be fired; as long as you don't steal anything. You will be encouraged to falsify delivery records, but don't get caught they will fire you.

Cons

Working for FedEx is like buying a used care. Your manager is like a used car salesman. He/She will say anything, make stuff up, and their words are meaningless. They have the right to make local policy which they do on the fly and then change it. There is an absolute lack of integrity on display from FedEx managers and they have the authority from upper management. The personnel department collaborates with front line managers to circumvent their own policies. BEWARE!

Pros

Excellent benefits at minimal cost (health/dental/vision/life insurance/LTD/STD/401k & company pension/airline discounts) 1st day of employment = 2 weeks vacation/4 personal days/5 sick days Pays employees for sick time not used at the end of fiscal year. Can transfer within the company anywhere nationwide

Cons

Part-time employees are treated like trash. Super high turnover. Vindictive/incompetent frontline and senior management Long hours and unorganized work assignments Highly politically charged work environment; upgrades and promotions are mostly based on relationships not work ethic or production. Only concerned with statistics not people, management can careless about what happens onroad until something happens to an employee that brings attention from the district. Unrealistic goals set by management so that raises for employees are null or minimal. Ultimately, do not accept a job at Fedex if you have expections of being promoted to another position or thinking about going onto management. This is a dead-end JOB not a career. If you are a college student I would suggest taking this job but do not stay, leave as soon as you gradute or can land something career-wise. Do not expect management to be understanding or fair. ALL THAT MATTERS AT FEDEX ARE STATISTICS AND REPORTS PERIOD. People, which includes employees and customers, are not a concern of FedEx, only MONEY.

Pros

We are encouraged to find better ways of doing things. Do the right things right and you are pretty much left alone to get things done.

Cons

The recent pay cuts, salary suspensions, cut in incentive pay, and the cut in 401K match have really hurt and make it hard to keep up with inflation.
