Pros

Excellent benefits package. More flexible scheduling than many other employers. More opportunities for those with only a high school education. Effective grievance system.

Cons

More focus on the shareholders than the employees (without whose efforts the shareholders wouldn't be getting a return). Lots of stress and workload burden on middle and senior management. Hourly employees get the most attention because FedEx will do whatever it takes to keep the hourly employees from going union. FedEx management all took a significant pay cut and raise freeze, which is understandable in this economy. But unlike other companies who have a plan to make it back up to their employees once the economy turns around, FedEx management will lose that money forever....even once FedEx is making bigger profits (to the benefit of the shareholders).

Pros

FedEx still provides a work enviorment that empowers employees to make decisions, and isn't stressfull. Benefits are still above average.

Cons

There are no career paths and limited professional growth opportunities. This makes FedEx seem more like a job and not a career.
