Pros

The benefits are OK. They aren't fantastic, not even as good as what FedEx Express gets, but they aren't terrible. I have learned a lot about technology, working with varying personalities, and creating something with little resources.

Cons

It took me 5 years to become a manager, I am underpaid compared to other managers who were hired in as managers. This is very standard. For some reason if you are promoted you can only be bumped up to the minimum of the salary grade, but hired in with experience else where opens up new doors. Stress is very high, we are treated as guinea pigs for the corporate office to test new ideas. I can't imagine having a family while also having this job. There is no work/life balance. I feel bad for my employees. They make retail wages, but have much more responsibility than a standard retail job. Career growth short unless you want to move to Dallas or Plano.

Pros

- Work is interesting and passes the time once you're proficient. - You'll never feel intimidated by a copier/ printer again. - Very corporate, but in a good way.

Cons

- Management does not honor your availability unless you're in school or a favorite. I asked to not be scheduled for only two nights, after the rush, out of the whole week. I kept getting scheduled for those nights and would remind them about my availability. My boss didn't like that and said a paper I had signed about changes in the company meant I forfeited my availability. The paper said nothing of the sort. - There is a lot of blatant favoritism. - Hands on training is very limited.

It's a trap!

Pros

Once you prove competence, the micro-managing gets cut back, but you'll also be stuck with doing way more work than your co-workers. They were accommodating with vacation requests. Vibe was relaxed on most days.

Cons

It's difficult to move up unless you're an absolute suck-up. Raises are laughable. Work experience doesn't transfer into many other fields. It's a cancer to your resume.
