FedEx is a large company which offers opportunities for advancement in management "IF" you come to the company with the education and experience and fully prepared to move up.

Cons

Drivers and loaders are at the mercy of the latest corporate whim..FedEx will open and close facilities and terminals at the drop of a hat..giving little or no notice to employees and totally disregarding the loyalty of employees and the stresses placed on families...Be prepared to move like a gypsy..Don't invest in a home or plan to have your kids finish school in a specific area...FedEx demands loyalty but does NOT reciprocate except to a select few who play golf with the supervisors and managers...

Pros

Pay is great, hard work is acknowledged and rewarded, also very flexible with the college students schedule. A perfect place to work if your looking for a part time job.

Cons

Work can be physically demanding from time to time, and the work environment is also very dirty. The worst thing though is during the winter time business starts to slow down so your hours may be cut drastically

city drivers work nights starting off staggered start times and didn't ever know how long work day would be
