You'll do the job of 5 people, while getting paid for one person. As a supervisor I was a production operator, a production GAP leader, quality on some days, and process tech on some days. Be expected to work 12 hours every day, no matter what they promise you before you start working. Management is full of cliques, if your direct report doesn't like you as a friend, they will make your life miserable during your time there. Point system isn't respected, mainly because nobody wants to work for this company. You'll have operators that have 20+ attendance points that you want to get rid of, but HR won't do anything about it, or look for replacements. If you are a supervisor, your manager will go out on the floor without you knowing it and yell at your employees on a weekly basis, and then it's up to you to try and convince your operator to not walk out because the manager is a clueless. Quantity > Quality at this company. I've been told this directly from the plant manager at the time as well. Quality has confirmed something is bad, the person in charge of fixing it confirms it's bad, but the plant manager says I don't care make it look good and send it anyways. Honestly embarrassing that this happens at a manufacturing company. I also hope you're extremely bi-lingual to even talk to your employees. Brush up on your spanish, french, and Haitian Creole because most people you will be supervising can only speak one of these languages and that's it.
