FDM Group Response

I am really pleased to hear you are enjoying your time on site. The training you receive in the academy prepares you for life onsite but in many cases, the clients will also invest heavily in your development. A key reason a lot of our clients partner with us is that they are looking for exceptional talent that they can nurture and grow to transition to their own teams once the contractual time frames with FDM have lapsed. Investing in our people is very important to us and all of our consultants have access two online learning platforms, Pluralsight and Intuition KnowHow, each containing a library of thousands of courses, allowing you to refresh your knowledge and up skill. We also provide additional training when required. Please contact me and I will personally make sure that you are set up with access to these. I would also welcome the chance to discuss any other feedback you may have, Andy.Brown@FDMgroup.com

Pros

Great trainers who are willing to help Account managers trying to find you a job - remember for FDM to make money you have to get placed and so it’s in their best interest to get you placed I got placed at a good company in my 3rd week Without FDM I wouldn’t be working in IT

Cons

You might not get placed - if so you would have wasted a large amount of your time. In my time at FDM this happened to 1 person I knew and FDM offered them employment with FDM but they decided to leave If there is a period of time between your sign-off and placement start date you still may have to come in everyday to basically show face . A lot of the training for my course was online and I didn’t see why we weren’t able to work from home because for like 4 weeks I was - in essence - just going in to use the WiFi, which for that matter is less reliable than the internet I have at home. The course is only as good as the trainers and quiet a few of the trainers simply didn’t seem that bothered on the other hand some were really nice and really wanted to help you succeed The biggest con is you don’t get paid throughout the training but you knew that when you signed up. Pay is not amazing for the sector however if you haven’t been able to get a job through the usual methods it’s a great opportunity to get your foot in the door, just know what you’re getting in to
