Pros

FDM have an excellent range of clients which will usually secure a good salary and full-time employment with the client after 2 years of employment with FDM.

Cons

The training, while adequate, can be achieved online for around £500 and far less than the £20000 cost and two-year commitment that FDM ask for. FDM will pay you a sub-market-value salary throughout the two years that you are employed by them, else you will have to pay the £20000 training fee. Working at FDM has few (though growing) benefits, including limited holiday time, no further training or input into personal development. If you can reasonably get a graduate IT job in any other company, including FDM's clients, there is no good reason to apply to FDM (though it may be an acceptable last resort).

Pros

FDM offers great opportunities for fresh graduates to venture into IT and finance sector. IT industry is up and coming with an array of new jobs created (and to be created) in which technical skills is highly sought after. enrolling in this program allows me to marry both my business knowledge learnt in school and the technical training (SQL, VBA, ITIL, PLSQL, PRINCE2). External certification is also sponsored by the company. In terms of the client base, FDM has a wide range of clients in Singapore mainly from the finance sector with many placement opportunities available.

Cons

The FDM model may not suit everyone as you have to undergo training (ranging from 9 weeks to 16 weeks depending on the pathway you choose) before you get placed with a suitable client based on your skills sets and personality.

Pros

As a fresh graduate out of university, FDM offers me the chance to work with some of the biggest name in the Finance and Technology sector. The account managers at FDM also put in their all in helping us to prep for our placement interviews. The culture at FDM is very flat and collegiate, making it a fun and enjoyable working environment. There are also regular get-togethers activities to bond with current consultants and they are willing to share their experiences and advice. The senior management also took the effort to welcome the new joiners during such events.

Cons

Interviews for different roles may take place concurrently and at short notice so there is a constant need to be on "standby" mode during the interview phase. Depending on the client companies and roles, consultants cannot afford to be picky so we'll most likely accept the first offer made to us.
