Pros

There are few pros: -paid PRINCE 2 qualification -office location -training for free, after all -if you are lucky the clients are good opportunities for the future

Cons

-after the training you have to wait in the pond (a big open plan space with computers) without anything to do -they are NOT clear and transparent with contract when they recruit you. there is no written anywhere that you have to attend the academy after training -you have to be available for account managers email and phone every time and you get told off if you do not answer immediately -no communication between departments -everyone seems helpful but they dont care at all -the account managers think they are gods on earth but they are a few years older than graduates and sometime even less qualified -the account managers do not care of your experience or preference -the salary between placements is 18,000 K and nobody says anything about it -there is not living allowance -Terrible assistance to foreign graduate (flexibility in the contracts for accommodation in London is impossible)

Pros

Very few pros about the company. The clients are all blue chip companies. Free coffee. Meeting the other trainees was a good experience. The training for the technical courses is quite good.

Cons

It does say in your contract that you need to be geographically flexible but there is a very high chance you will need to go to London so keep that in mind before signing. Apparently everyone typically get placed. That is a lie, during my time there was at least 15 people (including myself) who reached the end of their 90 days without even an interview. If you do not get placed you need to survive unpaid for months or get another job and work stupid hours seven days a week. They have a fantastic office space which can lure people in, do not be fooled by it! There is absolutely no communication between recruitment, sales or the training staff. It almost seems like three companies operating under one roof which results in far too many trainees and no jobs. When you occasionally do catch up with the sales staff they will tell you contracts are coming do not worry about a thing and just lie to your face about up coming opportunities. You have absolutely no say in what roles you are put forward for. They will say we pick CV's based on who matches a clients requirements.. This is a lie, it almost seems like CV's are picked at random. The salary is significantly lower than other graduate schemes especially if you are working in London. The award winning training is actually pretty garbage. A few courses like excel and SQL are useful but most are just reading slides off of power point and then doing a presentation. Really think about it before you sign the contract, there is a chance you will be sitting around for six months, unpaid and if you do get a job you might need to move across the country on a few days notice.

We take all feedback seriously and I’m sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your overall experience or your interaction with the sales team. Our people are the most important part of FDM and we invest a significant amount of resources (financial and non-financial) into helping graduates launch their careers. The training is fully funded by FDM and it is not in our interest for consultants not to be placed, because that is the essence of our business model and the way we recoup our investment. If you feel that anyone treated you unfairly, please email andy.brown@fdmgroup.com so that I can personally look into this. Andy Brown – Chief Commercial Officer

Pros

Good technical training in SQL, UNIX, and PL/SQL. People are very nice there. Trainers are really helpful.

Cons

Business knowledge training needs some improvement. Other than that, everything is fine.
