The culture at Cradlepoint was toxic and dishonest. I was impacted by a restructure and my role and the rest of the admins on my teams roles were eliminated claiming they would outsource. Not long after that, they started hiring again for the same types of positions, but only for candidates within a certain radius of the corporate office. It was clear their intention all along was to cut remote employees under the guise of “restructuring.” The way it was handled was shady, misleading, and showed a complete lack of loyalty to employees. To make matters worse, the VP of Enterprise Applications who delivered the layoff news was cold and completely unsympathetic. I understand it’s not an easy conversation to have, but a little empathy would have gone a long way. Their actions and tone said everything about how little they value people.

- Salary is ridiculously low for IT standards in Ireland - Benefits are basically just Health Insurance - There is almost no salary progression after some years and they don't do bonuses for devs, just for the manager roles, which to me leaves no incentive for the employees to keep improving or to even staying there - 3 days in the office based in Athlone (since they implemented this a bunch of folks left) - Hierarchical culture of praising the managers or CEO even when they are being unreasonable or unethical - Bullying your colleagues is pretty normalized or at least it was in my team (not sure if I just got unlucky, but I saw this happening to others outside of team too) - You are asked to always perform better, even if you are given no reassurance, no sort of reward, not even basic tools to do your job, the company preaches this "raising the standard" idea that can be very burn out inducing.
