Pros

Yardi is doing very well as a company, as in, they're making a lot of money, which is great for them! Some people on my team are pretty nice. Technical and product advancement is speeding up which is always welcome. Yardi has an interesting place in the market, with basically no real competitors (see: a monopoly), next to zero mainstream eyeballs on their products outside of the United States, and a system that's so incredibly confusing, unstable and unintuitive, it needs a dedicated team of thousands of people to show clients how it works. The above points mean stability, and they mean growth. If you're fired by Yardi, you must be an extremely bad employee, because they don't fire people, no matter how bad they are at their job, or how much they impede on other people's productivity and happiness.

Cons

Where do you even start with Yardi? Complete ignorance. An absolute circus. I've never worked for a company so full of egomaniacs and nepotists. Every bit of communication the company puts out is about how much profit the company is making, or some kind of worshipping act for the owner or his family members' out of touch ideas. Yardi does (at least in theory) follow its lofty mission statement, however, only in the USA. Outside of America, you're doomed to a day-to-day life full of inconsistencies, and void of any opportunity or happiness. In our case, there are no people in Australia who actually can deal with any of your problems accurately and tactfully, nor is there anyone who cares about them. The company itself is shockingly rigid and old-fashioned, operating similarly to a big bank, without the influence or the power. You're made to feel like you are privileged and lucky for working there, there are ridiculous micromanaging KPIs put on you, and you're not important at all. What's important to Yardi is maintaining the illusion that they care about their employees, the community around them, or anyone else for that matter. Yardi cares about one thing, and one thing only - profit. It is a group of thousands of real people, led by a coordinated group of disingenuous, power hungry yes-men. It's almost like a requirement for moving into a higher position here is to do the opposite of what your job description asks of you. Of course, you must play the political games too, Yardi has plenty of that if you enjoy a toxic 9 to 5. The salary is incredibly low, the work culture is almost completely absent, you are held hostage by a bunch of hostile actors that only want to advance their own interests... in general Yardi is just an awful company to work for. Once Yardi's glorified PR team responds to this post with the same copy-paste they give every horrific review, you'll hopefully realise the pattern that Yardi has of complete denial and punishment of anyone who have concerns. I wouldn't dare to contact the VP to voice my concerns, because Yardi does not deal with concerns, Yardi runs away from concerns, they hide them, and most importantly, they gaslight anyone who does not tow the company line of mismanagement and complete indifference. Overall, I would not recommend even my worst enemy would get a job at Yardi Sydney. It's a company that will destroy your character, your energy and will devalue your entire career and self-worth. If you're considering it, you're honestly better off starting your career in a fast food joint.

It is unfortunate that your experience at Yardi did not reflect what 80+% of others have said here on Glassdoor – Yardi is a great place to work. We truly try to live by our corporate motto on a daily basis, as well as our beliefs and values that focus on integrity, respect, and trust. While it sounds like you are very frustrated with your experience, our company prides itself with very open communication channels between all levels of hierarchy. We hope that employees take advantage of the fact that all of our executives have an open-door policy for employees to discuss any concerns. We hope you find what you’re looking at your new role.

Pros

If I were asked pros of this company in 2020 I would fill this entire space. Since COVID the company culture completely changed toward the negative. They have good affordable health and dental insurance. You get to leave 2 hours early on the day before a holiday. They will provide lunch in office once a week. You get to work a hybrid WFH schedule. They invest in your 401k whether you contribute or not.

Cons

Their pay is below market. I was a TAM and could have made $20k more per year with another company but wanted to stay with yardi because they weren’t publicly traded and were more stable. The culture became more stressful and toxic after covid. Yardi began a partnership with wework (see Hulu documentary) and then wework went belly up which yardi had to bail them out of. As a result yardi spent millions of dollars. To offset this terrible decision, Yardi started quietly firing people within the company. Basically, they were eliminating “overhead” without calling it layoffs because the word layoff scares clients and they’ll start looking for another software to use.

We truly care about your feedback and appreciate hearing from you though some of your experiences and observations are vastly different from what we hear from our talented Technical Account Managers worldwide. Regarding the 2022 WeWork partnership, Our CEO has a proven track record for making strong business decisions that result in continued growth and success for the company, and we were thrilled to debut a new space management solution through our ‘WeWork Workplace’ partnership which solves for a dynamic, constantly evolving future of work. We are proud to share that we have not participated in any company layoffs and have added serval thousand employees to the company in the past several years as we continue to grow. We take pride in our caring, respectful, and transparent culture and genuinely encourage anyone who feels negatively impacted by something to schedule time with the VP of Human Resources to further discuss. While we are sorry you weren’t a happier employee, we genuinely wish you all the best going forward.
