Pros
- Meet some good people (not management, other chemists) - Apparently other labs on site are better?
Cons
- Pay is terrible and annual pay increase system is rigged by company to not give you high raises, raises are sub inflation so more like a pay cut. - the lab is cut throat, you will be stressed and burnout all of the time with the impossible workload - management is an absolute joke and do not care about you, this includes supervisors who are useless, uncaring and expect you to go above and beyond so they look good and can get there bonuses, while they do the bare minimum and treat you terribly - if you are semi good at your job you’ll be expected to cover for those that aren’t, leading to an even higher workload for you - management refuses to do anything about the people who are bad at their job and create more work for you - no career progression at all - you will be worked to the point of breaking - there is growing lack of experience in the lab due to all the experienced people leaving - toxic blame culture in the labs, if anything goes wrong it will be placed on you regardless if it wasn’t “because they need to assign a cause”
