Pros
All military branches are a great way to move up in society. Free college and sometimes relevant job experience. It is possible to be stationed or port in some exciting locations. Living amongst your sailor brothers and sisters is a unique life experience.
Cons
You live, work, eat, and sleep on a warship. Your job may have you stuck in an office all day never seeing sunlight or you might be risking your life everyday on the flight deck. Uprooting your life every 3-4 years gets old. The Chief's Mess is a cult. Imagine being in a steel container in the middle east during summer with no AC. You are expected to work just as hard as the sailors who came before you but will discipline you for even the smallest of things so no more playing hard, just working hard. The suicide rates are up for a reason that is debatable but doesn't change the fact they are up.
